The Namkhan
The Namkhan has been welcoming guests since October 2019 but has been operating as an organic farm since 2016. We attract professionals and volunteers from around the globe, bringing individual skills to the development of the resort and eco farm.
Our People
At The Namkhan, people are always at the center of our attention. Connecting people by shared motivations and living up to mutual values is what defines our community. The Namkhan has a unique personality and likes to be approachable, friendly, and worldly-wise. Our vision is to create a sustainable resort, helping our guests feel their best whilst remaining respectful of the environment.
In a country where agriculture is the mainstay of the economy, we believe that it is crucial to promote organic agriculture, providing jobs and healthy food for our employees and guests. With this in mind, The Namkhan has gradually become a small village as most of our employees stay on-site and enjoy the healthy and peaceful ambience. In 2018, we decided to create an ecological accommodation, allowing travellers & guests to connect with the beautiful Laos nature, which led us to offer glamping with our Explorer tents, made with a Thai Leu Lao Style roof. We have since built bungalows & villas with our carpentry workshop, using local materials and preserving traditional Lao architecture.
We believe that The Namkhan provides a different understanding of hospitality, as our core value is to be as sustainable as possible.
The Namkhan is not just a place to stay but a property where knowledge, sharing, and learning is passed on, allowing each person to learn from our different methods.
Our Idea
The property reflects Laos’ serenity, the kindness of its people, and the peacefulness of their lifestyle. It is the perfect place to reconnect with nature and oneself. Luang Prabang is a sacred city, home to over 34 temples listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We invite you to experience farm to table meals, Yoga, Qi Gong and other wellness focused activities at the resort amidst nature, surrounded by the clean rushing Namkhan River.

The goal was to create a unitary place where we integrate the education, development and experience of each person we welcome. Our aim is for every person who visits the Namkhan to leave it feeling better than they did when they arrived.
